The present progressive is formed by combining the verb "to be" with the present participle. (The present participle is merely the "-ing" form of a verb.)

  • I am studying. I am studying with María.

the present progressive is used much more frequently than in Spanish, even when not present in the prayer of the expressions that indicate. For this reason there is a tendency for Spanish-speakers do not use it.
